Learn the fundamental tools and techniques of letterpress printing in this hands-on workshop focusing on printing with photopolymer plates.

Students will gain an understanding of how digital design and analog processes can come together in printmaking, allowing for flexible designs and deep impressions that are challenging to achieve with traditional lead and wood type.Whether you're new to letterpress or looking to expand your skills, this workshop offers a unique opportunity to explore the creative possibilities of photopolymer plates in a traditional printing environment.

This class serves as a prerequisite for membership or printing in our shop. Students learn the essentials of press work, lockup-up, and makeready and experience the magic of bringing a print to life. Every student gets a chance to operate the press and pull a handful of prints to bring home.

Please be conscious that cleanup and putting type away is every students responsibility, it does take time, and is part of the full letterpress experience.
