Printer membership
There are two main active Printer Membership levels, as well as a Printer Pass for those with short-term or infrequent projects. Completion of Intro to Letterpress or Fundamentals of Letterpress, plus 12 hours of Open Studio time is required for all membership levels. Memberships are summarized below, details and agreements are available upon request.
If you are interested in becoming a Printer Member, the first step is to sign up for an Intro to Letterpress or a Fundamentals of Letterpress workshop. If you have any questions, feel free to send us an email.
NEW Member TraininG
Prospective new members are welcome to take any Intro to Letterpress or Fundamentals of Letterpress class on our calendar, followed by a minimum of 12 hours of work on an independent project during our Open Studio time. From there we can work with you to see if more classes or studio time will be required, or if you're ready to print independently as a member.
Intro to Letterpress or Fundamentals of Letterpress will familiarize you with the studio, teach the basics letterpress printing, and instruct proper clean-up and care of presses. After completion, you’re welcome to print durning our Open Studio hours as you work on independent projects and become more familiar with the presses and NBLA culture. A skilled printer will be on hand to provide guidance and answer the questions that inevitably arise.
