Each student will design and layout a medium sized 11” x 17” poster using our larger wood and metal type and our large selection of vintage cuts. The tactile, hands-on approach with large shapes helps them fall together on the page, and is a nice approach to typesetting.

Each student will leave with 8-12 posters, depending on the time and skill level. It’s not a race, and there is encouragement to try multiple colors, and slight variations, and layering.

Come with a simple phrase or saying, something you would like the poster to say, or if you are daring enough…bring yourself and improvise off the cuff.

Please be conscious that cleanup and putting type away is every students responsibility, it does take time, and is part of the full letterpress experience.
